From the moment I started reading her books, I fell in love with Isabel Allende.Paula is a great memoir, not just for her and her journey, but also for her daughter. Isabel writes with emotions "a flor de piel", every sentence, every paragraph can be felt by the reader. I could feel her passion for life and for her family, much more evident in this memoir, than on any of the other books of her collection that I have had the privilege to read.A letter that becomes a book, Paula is rich, powerful, and so complete. Filled with so many beautiful adjectives, nouns, and pronouns that are the back bone to the Spanish language, Paula leads the reader through a vast world of family strength, family ties, and with conviction that matriarchal societies are a true treasure. In my own personal journey, life has placed me in English and French speaking lands, and when I read Isabel Allende's works, I return to that powerful and fertile universe of the Spanish language, a universe that can be experience beyond words, with all five senses, especially with taste and smells. Who could dream of possessing such talent that your written words can make others transport themselves physically to the place referred on each story.
